WANTED: Stories & ideas for National Commission on Hunger

Icon-LegislationWe have the opportunity to share Colorado’s perspective on a national platform—and we want to include your voice.

The National Commission on Hunger is a congressionally appointed, bipartisan commission to provide policy recommendations to Congress and the USDA, as well as to provide innovative solutions that encourage public-private partnerships, faith-based sector engagement and community initiatives. I have been invited to their June 26th hearing in El Paso, Texas, not only to provide in-person, recorded testimony but also submit written testimony that will go on national record—a first for Colorado.

In preparation for the hearing, I want to hear your stories and ideas. Have you ever worried about when or where you would get your next meal? How do you think hunger impacts Colorado? What do you propose as solutions to address an issue that affects nearly 1 in 7 Coloradans?

Please send your stories and ideas to info@hungerfreecolorado.org, or leave a comment here. I look forward to receiving them—and incorporating your voices in our testimony.
