Homemade Breakfast Burrito and Blood Oranges: Breakfast in the Classroom in Alamosa

I can’t wait to get back to Alamosa! The last time we visited for our Community Conversation about Child Hunger, we visited a breakfast in the classroom program at an elementary school. I was so impressed. The food was nutritious, fresh, and delicious. The food service staff had the program down to a science: they dropped off homemade breakfast burritos, fresh fruit, and milk to each classroom a few minutes prior to the beginning of the school day. In most classrooms, the teacher took attendance as students quietly ate their breakfast.
